Kashif Siddiqi Foundation

Altus Football has been made possible by the Kashif Siddiqi Foundation.

As a young man, Kashif Siddiqi broke through many barriers to become one of only a handful of British South Asian footballers to make it at professional and international level. The teams he has played for include Arsenal Youth, Pakistan (in the under-23s at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the senior team at the South Asian Championships) and Northampton Town. For Kashif, faith and football have always gone together. They are a great source of inspiration and strength as he travels the globe playing the game he loves.

In 2011, supported by the Professional Footballers’ Association and the FA, Kashif founded the Kashif Siddiqi Foundation. His goal? To get more young British South Asians on the pitch and give them the tools to live healthier lives off it. Now, with the support of his team and the Foundation, he’s taking the next big step forward: launching Altus Football.

As well as football, Kashif is also passionate about his charity work. His goodwill has been recognised by world figures including Prince William, former prime minister David Cameron, HRH Ali of Jordan, Pope Francis and the United Nations.

Timetable

The Altus Football programme runs for eight weeks from January to March 2019. Those taking part receive football training from FA qualified coaches and learn other elements of the beautiful game including advice on nutrition, wellbeing and leadership.

The programme will also help players stay in football after the eight weeks. This could be by joining an academy or local football team, pursuing coaching qualifications or continuing sport at college or university.

Altus Football will culminate in a finals day, held at a top UK stadium, where teams will meet and compete for the honour of being crowned Altus Football champions.

Training sessions will take place in east London, Bradford, Birmingham and Derby.
